The Bandit Will Ride Again At DIY Network’s Celebrity Rides

Smokey and the Bandit is a movie released in the year 1977. Burt Reynolds played the role as Bandit, Jerry Reed as the Snowman, and Sally Field as Frog. The story of the Smokey and the Bandit revolves around the three main characters that are racing to bring a truckload of smuggled Coors beer some place where Coors was not allowed. And of course the story would not be complete without the comic character Sheriff Buford T. Justice played by Jackie Gleason and his idiotic son, Junior Justice portrayed by Mike Henry chasing the three main characters around.
The comedy brought by the character of Jackie Gleason to the movie was outstanding so was the chemistry between Reynolds and Field. But despite all that, Bandit’s black with gold accents Trans-Am came out as the star.
And guess what? Burt Reynolds also known as Bandit from Smokey and the Bandit will once again reunite with the car he made famous once on the DIY Network show Celebrity Rides. The Trans-Am has become so famous after the movie that its sales jumped by 100 percent.
DIY Network show Celebrity Rides will feature a total of five episodes showing Reynolds restoring a fleet of limited edition Trans-Ams together with his design team from YearOne, an auto restoration company.
And that’s not all! Since DIY knows just how much fans would like to own a Smokey and Bandit Trans-Am, the network will be giving away one. For those who want to win a Trans-Am all they have to do is to visit Heavy.com where they can upload videos explaining why they should be given the car.
