KITT will have Silver Racing Stripes...Huh?

This is not yet confirmed but according to rumors circulating in the net Ford’s Mustang is likely to become the new KITT in the upcoming Knight Rider TV series. A Shelby GT500KR is the likely contender for the KITT role but with its silver racing stripes in contrast with KITT’s all black persona it sure would need a great amount of designing creativity to make it work.

The GT500KR as KITT would be given a whole new design. The famous trademark of KITT, the running red light bar would be relocated up and into two nostrils that sit atop the GT500KR’s hood.

Anyway, this is just a rumor but if Ford will not be able to play its card right it might wake up one day with one of GM’s vehicles playing the part. It can be remembered that Volkswagen was the first choice for the role Bumblebee in Transformers but was coveted by GM’s Camaro but in fairness to the Camaro it has played the role pretty well.

Let us not forget that the silver stripes serves as the trademark of the Shelby GT500KR, it’s going to be interesting on how they would fit that into KITT’s blacked-out persona without affecting the original concept of Knight Rider.
